What a Medical Attendant at Home Costs in Gurgaon (2026 Guide)
A transparent breakdown of what medical attendants, GDAs and one-time medical visits actually cost at home in Gurgaon — and where hidden charges usually appear.
Most families researching home care in Gurgaon hit the same wall: nobody publishes a price. Agencies quote over the phone, the quote varies by who is asking, and the number you were given rarely matches the invoice at the end of the month. This guide sets out what the work actually costs and, more usefully, where the extra charges tend to hide.
The three things you might be buying
Families often use "attendant", "nurse" and "caretaker" interchangeably, which is exactly why quotes are hard to compare. There are really three distinct services.
A General Duty Attendant (GDA) handles daily, non-clinical care — bathing, feeding, mobility, repositioning, toileting, companionship. No injections, no dressings.
A medical attendant or nurse (what we call an MQA) does all of that plus the clinical work: prescribed injections, IV fluids, wound dressing, vitals monitoring, catheter and tube care.
A Quick Medical Service is a single home visit for one procedure. No shift, no ongoing commitment — someone comes, does the thing, and leaves.
Paying attendant rates for work a GDA could do is the single most common way families overspend on home care.

A shift price covers every task in that category performed during the shift. If your MQA gives an injection, changes a dressing and checks vitals across a 12-hour shift, that is ₹1,799 — not ₹1,799 plus three procedure charges.
Where costs actually escalate
Procedure-by-procedure billing. Some providers quote an attractive daily rate and then bill each injection, dressing and vitals check on top. Ask explicitly: is this the total for the shift, or a base rate?
Travel and night surcharges. Common in NCR, rarely mentioned upfront. We do not levy either — there is no surcharge for a Gurgaon address versus a Delhi one.
Consumables. Syringes, dressings, catheter kits and gloves add up over a long engagement. For our Quick Medical Services the consumables are in the price.
Replacement gaps. If an attendant does not turn up and the agency cannot replace them that day, you are paying for cover you did not receive. Ask what happens on a no-show before you sign.
What a month realistically costs
For continuous 24-hour cover, expect roughly ₹45,000 a month for GDA-level care and about ₹78,000 for a medical attendant. That is a serious commitment, and it is worth being honest about whether you need it.
Many families do not. A common and much cheaper pattern is a 12-hour day shift covering the hours the house is empty — around ₹36,000 a month for GDA cover — combined with one-off medical visits when a specific procedure is needed. If your relative needs an injection three times a week and help bathing daily, that combination costs far less than round-the-clock clinical staffing and delivers the same care.
Questions worth asking any provider
- Is this the total price, or does each procedure bill separately?
- Are consumables included?
- Is the attendant background-verified, and can I see the documentation?
- What happens if the attendant does not arrive?
- Can I get the same person for consecutive days?
A provider who answers all five plainly is usually a provider whose invoice will match their quote.
