Post-Operative Care at Home in Delhi NCR

Starting at ₹1,799

The riskiest part of most surgeries is not the operation — it is the fortnight afterwards, at home, when the surgical team is no longer watching. Wound infection, missed medication, a chest complication from lying still too long, a fall on the way to the bathroom: these are what send patients back to hospital, and nearly all of them are preventable with competent supervision. Our post-operative attendants manage the discharge instructions your surgeon gave you and then handed to a family with no clinical training. They dress the wound on schedule and flag infection early, keep the medication timings right, get the patient mobilising at the pace the surgeon specified, and monitor vitals for the signs that matter. They also tell you plainly when something warrants a call to the doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should post-operative home care start?

Ideally on the day of discharge. The first 48 to 72 hours at home carry the highest risk of the wound, medication or mobility issues that cause readmission, so cover from day one is worth far more than cover started a week later.

Can the attendant change surgical dressings?

Yes. Medically qualified attendants perform sterile dressing changes to your surgeon's protocol, assess the wound at every change, and escalate immediately if they see signs of infection — increasing redness, discharge, odour or fever.

How long will we need post-surgery care at home?

It depends on the procedure. Minor surgeries often need three to seven days of support; major abdominal, cardiac or orthopaedic surgery commonly needs two to four weeks. Many families start with 24-hour cover and step down to 12-hour shifts as the patient improves.

Do you handle post-operative physiotherapy as well?

Attendants supervise the mobility exercises your surgeon prescribed. For structured rehabilitation, book a qualified physiotherapist at home separately — a 45-minute session is Rs 1,499.

What happens if there is a complication?

The attendant escalates to the family immediately and helps arrange transport to your treating hospital. They are trained to recognise warning signs early, which is the entire point of having clinical eyes on a recovery.
