Home Nursing Charges in Delhi NCR: A Transparent Breakdown
What home nursing actually costs across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad — shift rates, per-procedure charges and how to avoid overpaying.
Home nursing pricing in Delhi NCR is opaque by default. Rates vary by who is asking, quotes are given verbally, and the monthly invoice frequently exceeds the number discussed. This is what the work costs, set out plainly.
Shift rates
| Service | 12 hours | 24 hours |
|---|---|---|
| GDA — General Duty Attendant | ₹1,199 | ₹1,499 |
| MQA — Medical Attendant / Nurse | ₹1,799 | ₹2,599 |
These rates are identical in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. There is no location surcharge and no travel fee.
A shift rate covers every service in that category performed during the shift. An MQA who gives two injections, changes a dressing and monitors vitals across twelve hours costs ₹1,799 — not ₹1,799 plus three procedure charges. Ask any provider to confirm this in writing, because per-procedure billing on top of a daily rate is the most common source of invoice shock.
One-time procedure visits
Where the need is a single task, a full shift is the wrong purchase.
| Procedure | Price |
|---|---|
| IM injection | ₹599 |
| Wound dressing | ₹599 |
| Insulin injection | ₹699 |
| Enema | ₹699 |
| Vital signs check | ₹899 |
| Elderly care visit | ₹899 |
| Nebulization | ₹899 |
| Oxygen support | ₹899 |
| Vaccination | ₹899 |
| IV drip | ₹999 |
| Catheter care | ₹1,499 |
| Ryle's tube care | ₹1,499 |
| Physiotherapy session | ₹1,499 |
Consumables are included. Prescribed medication is not, unless agreed at booking.
Monthly costs
| Arrangement | Approximate monthly cost |
|---|---|
| GDA, 12-hour day shift | ₹36,000 |
| GDA, 24-hour cover | ₹45,000 |
| MQA, 12-hour day shift | ₹54,000 |
| MQA, 24-hour cover | ₹78,000 |
These are significant sums, and the honest advice is that many families buy more than they need.
Three ways families overpay
Booking clinical care for non-clinical needs. If nobody needs to make a clinical judgement — no wound, no injections, no tube — a GDA is sufficient and costs ₹600 a day less. Over a month that is ₹18,000.
Booking 24-hour cover when 12 hours would do. If the household is occupied in the evenings, a day shift covering the empty hours is often enough. The step from 12 to 24 hours costs less than double, which makes it tempting, but the right question is whether the overnight hours actually need staffing.
Booking a shift for a single procedure. A fortnightly catheter change is ₹1,499. Booking a 12-hour shift for it is ₹1,799 for twenty minutes of work.
The pattern that usually works
For post-discharge recovery, most families do best stepping down rather than holding one arrangement: 24-hour MQA cover in week one, 12-hour MQA in week two, GDA cover once the clinical need ends, then one-off visits for the residual procedures.
That sequence typically costs 40 to 50 percent less than a month of continuous clinical cover, and it matches the patient's actual needs at each stage. A provider who will not let you step down is selling a package.
Questions before you commit
- Is the quoted rate the total, or are procedures billed separately?
- Are consumables included?
- Is there a travel charge, or a night surcharge?
- What happens if the attendant does not arrive — am I charged?
- Can I step down the level of care as the patient improves?
- Can I see the attendant's verification documentation?
